Everyone wants to get a piece of One Direction these days—including, it seems, woodland rodents.
1D’s Niall Horan couldn’t even get through a recent game of footie in London’s Battersea Park without being accosted by a group of ravenous squirrels, all of whom were intent on grabbing a bit of the Irishman’s fleshy bits. As Horan later told Capital FM radio:
A squirrel attacked me. I got attacked by a squirrel in Battersea Park. They’re dangerous. It’s rare.
While we may dispute young Horan’s description of squirrels as “dangerous,” we can’t argue with the damage the sciuridaen menace inflicted upon him: In the course of avoiding his attackers, Niall tore most of the ligaments in his knee. That’s nuts!
(Of course, other reports have said that Niall’s injury was merely the result of an old football injury flaring up, with no mention of squirrel attacks, so we don’t know what to think? Is it racist of us to think maybe he’s just giving us a little Gift of Gab?)
