Two years ago, Demi Lovato had to share the cover of Teen Vogue with former paramour Joe Jonas. This week, the mag revealed that Demi—just Demi—is their November issue cover girl.
It’s clear that a lot has changed in Demi’s life in just two short years: there was the back-up dancer punching incident that led to a stint in a treatment center, the release of Unbroken , her judging gig on The X Factor, her efforts to help teen girls struggling with the same issues as she and her emergence as a true role model.
But forget about all that important stuff—check out how pretty she is here! Makeup artist Lisa Storey gave the former Disney starlet a fishtail braid and peachy blush, leaving her bare-faced enough to let her freckles shine through. Teen Vogue‘s Lawren Howell dressed Demi in feminine pieces by Marc Jacobs and Topshop, and countered all the girliness with vampy Chanel nail polish.
The singer is looking great and, by all accounts, she’s feeling great as well. As she told the mag, “The amount of success that I’ve had, even just in the last six months, is incredible to me…I’m really happy right now.” She also revealed a little bit about her recovering process, saying, “Obviously, I sleep, eat right, exercise and meditate. I know that I can’t miss my therapy appointments or things will get a little rocky.” And of course, there is the matter of those pesky 1D rumors. Her comment: “He’s a really awesome, sweet guy.
