Uh-Oh, One Direction Used Their Name in the Same Sentence as The Beatles

One Direction: “We’re just like the Beatles!”

No, Niall and Liam and Harry and them didn’t actually utter this exact quote, but they made a silly mistake that you have to chalk up to their youthful inexperience: They used their name in a comparative statement that also involved The Beatles. Careers have been submarined over less, and even though the actual quote reads like this:

“We watched that film of The Beatles when they first touched down in America and we saw a real likeness with our personalities,” Harry told the Daily Star.

“They loved having a laugh like us,” Niall added.

The quote everyone is going to pull from it is the one cited above. I mean hell, for all we know, when John Lennon supposedly called The Beatles “bigger than Jesus,” maybe he was just talking about how the group was fatter than the svelt savior after a week’s binging on holiday or something. Certain names, maybe just better to avoid relating to them altogether.
